Slaughter cows 3.00 to 7.00 lower. Outstanding quality from top to bottom this week with a good mix of yearling cattle and calves, the majority of the calves coming right off the cow but with at least one if not two rounds of shots. Volatility has run rampant throughout the industry the past couple weeks and the local cash trade had a bit of course correction today to adjust to the sharp losses experienced around the circuit in that time. Still some optimism throughout the cattle sector for sure with one group of heifers bought for replacement bringing just over $2500/head suggesting that maybe expansion isn't completely out of the question. Supply and demand moderate.
