Kearney, NE Mon Sep, 18 2023 Nebraska Weekly Livestock Auction Summary Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 9/11/2023 Receipts: 17330 Last Week: 9670 Last Year: 14003 Compared to last week steers under 700 lbs sold 8.00 to 10.00 higher and over 700 lbs sold steady to 3.00 lower. Heifers under 800 lbs sold 3.00 to 4.00 lower and over 800 lbs sold steady to 2.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good. Feedlots sold dressed sales 2.00 higher at 292.00 and live sales sold 1.00 higher from 184.00 to 185.00. Many feedlots are completing silage chopping and some have started to put up high moisture corn for feed supply for the next 365 days. Some areas of the state received rain showers letting farmers shut down pivots as crops are nearing maturity. Several hay producers are on fourth of alfalfa and continue to put up grass hay and almost anything that will go through a big round baler.
